Does anyone know what these are? I have to assume the vertical pancake style one is a GE as it appears to be a scotch-yolk type and has a fan. youtu.be/EPnwdOqldrk

Tecumseh made the pancake style, that is what is in my 61 vintage Kelvinator dehumidifier I have posted about. Believe they stopped making them in the mid to late 60s.
I don't know what the other one is out of.

The oil out of the pancake one looks like my CA1 oil ! Isn't that a scotch yoke? Which was a G E desige correct? I noticed the second one has suction and discharge mufflers.

The pancake compressor was made by Tecumseh, I've seen them in 1/12 Hp up to 2 Hp (R-22); they are scotch yoke, but just splash lubrication rather than the oil pump forced system GE used.
The other one is Westinghouse, off of a refrigerator, though they also made it standing on end, for R-22 in window air conditioners. The most notable thing about those window air conditioners is that they used a constant-low-side-pressure expansion valve.
The refrigerator ones made an annoying high-pitched whine due to a resonance of the ends of the compressor housing, they spot-welded a tin cover over the ends filled with lead shot to try to quiet it down, and later used metal strapping around the compressor.
The GE U-tube compressors had a similar issue, they strapped little cast-iron weights on each side above and below the weld seam to damp the resonance, with a label attached "Do Not Remove".
