There is also some spring contacts below the control.
As has been mentioned before, to remove the control. you first loosen the clamp holding the bellows tube to the evaporator. You then remove the four screws at each corner of the control and then gently lift the control up and you straighten the tube.
You will then see the contacts I mentioned. I suggest you measure the resistance of your motor at that time to determine if it's viable. If the readings are good, you can then partly disassemble the control and clean it. Many have used an ultrasonic cleaner.
