Hi i found the face book group and posted anpicture there.... Seems that the control switch itself broke off... Can this be replaced? I fwll off.of the snowmobile and cant make it out to the new shed where the DR (think it is one) is staying until running.

Hi,
I saw the picture posted on Facebook. It looks like a 1929-30 DR1 from what I can see. I am not clear as to what it needs.

Hello, I think I need to rebuild the control. I applied 120v AC to the terminals where the power cord would attach. No hum, whir, click nor smoke. Is it possible that the line and neutral are reversed ? I think that should not be an issue, in older machines. The switch knob is broken off, is that a replaceable part? The thermostat knob is turning smoothly. I would like to have a replacement power cord. I can solder a modern 12 AWG though. I do not see a serial number. again its difficult for me to walk now. I will as a neighbor to take pictures of the control. Again Thank you for your time F

I might be able to find the part. I really want to see that the unit is viable before hunting for parts.
I don’t have any extra female power cord ends. That part is on our wish list to reproduce.
I would advise you turn the control to the off position and measure the cord prongs for resistance. If you measure open, the heater is bad. DR’s need a functional heater to boil out refrigerant from the oil.
Is the refrigerator in a warm space? If not, it really should be moved to play with it, especially if it’s got a bad heater.
Have your friend remove the black nut on the top of the control and take a few pictures under the cover. We’ll start there. There’s also a terminal strip and contacts under the control, but I wouldn’t remove the control yet.
Do you know when this was last functional? I’ve had good luck with DR1’s, but sometimes they have failed internally.
Please feel free to message me privately if needed.

Here is the control assembly Thanks! I replied on your Facebook thread as well. Please send a pic from above, so that we can see the main contacts and overload heater. That'll help to assist with troubleshooting.
