Hi all. I've lurked on this forum for years but this is my first post. I have a GE CA-2-B16 that I purchased years ago--same old story, drive a few hundred miles, unit looks so-so, "oh, by the way, the thermostat knob is broken, but that's no big deal", the guy says. I'd driven so far with a trailer so I took it home. I rewired it and determined that it would run (bypassing the thermostat), with Mike Arnold's guidance. I'm finally retired so I dug into it again, thinking that I could fix it. I got close, but the thermostat is getting the best of me. I did manage to epoxy the knob back together and get it back in; then I found the little brass clip, when it fell out. Using coldspaces' tutorial, I THEN determined that I should have put the brass clip on BEFORE I epoxied the knob back together. Oh well.
Does anyone have a two-knob control unit for my MT or have any suggestions?
Thanks, Dave

I have a control for a CA which I repaired for another person, who then ghosted on me. Will send you a PM with details.

I'd like to give a big THANK YOU to turbokinetic (David) who shipped me a rebuilt thermostat for my CA-2-B16. He's been an incredible help and a pleasure to do business with. AND he knows a lot about these units. I have the rebuilt thermostat in my unit and will turn it on when the temperature goes above 10 degrees (F) outside, as my monitor top is in my outside garage.
