I purchased this double door monitor top with an enamel cabinet that is in amazing condition for its age for $50. The problem is something electrical and when I hooked it up to power, nothing happened. When I removed the cover on the box, I discovered a small wire was broken. I repaired it and was told to hook the machine up to a kilowatt meter and leave it be for 24 hours to see if the heater was working. I do not have a kilowatt meter and was too excited to wait for the one I ordered to come in the mail. I plugged the unit in and there was a clicking noise in the box but the compressor still won’t start. I love these old machines and know the basics on how they work but other than rewiring a lamp I am not familiar with the electrical components and how they work. I did take the box off and cleaned all the electrical components and still nothing. I REALLY want to get this thing running and use it in my kitchen. I’ve attached some pics and vids to show what’s going on. I am not a dummy and can pick up things very quickly. I need someone to walk me through this and help me to get this Baby up and running. I do belong to the Facebook group and have gotten some advice on there but I really want to understand the components and mechanics and how they work.

Joe,
I have commented to your post. Your compressor is either stalled, a connection is loose or the windings are damaged. Your next step is to remove the control and measure the resistance of each of the three motor leads and each to ground.
That will assure you the motor is viable. You may also find a bad connection under the control while you’re under it.

I messaged you on Facebook messenger and included some photos of the type E control you have.

Joeb welcome to the forum!
would love to see pictures of your fridge. But we are out of space so third party post is only way. As far as it not running, I’d do what Travis suggest. I would take a meating reading on the motor .
