Welcome to the forum. We are out of space for pics is the problem. We all third party host them now. No reason to recharge if it hasn't leaked out its SO2. I agree; don't fix what ain't broke. I'll start with rewiring, then worry about refrigerant later. Although it has been decades since this ran, there's no reason to believe the SO2 has leaked. The wiring is hideously old and patched. The motor does not run. I can troubleshoot this with the service manual schematics which I downloaded, and the images in your links. The links you supplied are perfect. Thank you so much!!!

Yep the wire was rubber insulated on these, its all old now.
