Hey all, new to the forum.
I’m in the process of returning my kitchen to its glory days of the 1930s and the main piece I’m lacking is a refrigerator. I’d love to find a double door from the 30s, but so far based on my eBay searches, they’re hard to find. There’s one I found, but the “top” is missing, making it pretty useless as a fridge. Any tips on other sites to search or key words to help in searching?
I’m trying to save myself some money by finding something myself rather than shelling out tons of cash for a fridge from one of the two restoration companies (but their work is super beautiful).
Thanks!

There’s very little out there cheap unless you have restoration experience. They all need extensive work after 80+ years. Budget at least $2000 on the low side.

Considering that the refurbished one from official businesses seem to be at least $12K, I’m very much ok with the low thousands

If you find a two door cabinet there’s members here with tops that they might part with.

If you find a two door cabinet there’s members here with tops that they might part with. There are very few double evaporator units for sale. In fact, I’ve almost never seen just a unit for sale. This is why I’ve brought home so many whole fridges.

I have one double door and one three door out there in California. Can sell either or both.
