Hello everyone, I changed the power cord on the fridge CG-1-A16, it works well, it is cold but it heats on the sides of the upper part (on the part where the ball is fix), is this normal on your CG-1-A16 models?
I have never been able to check before, so that's why I'm asking you this question.
I would like to be sure that everything is OK and that I do not risk an electrical problem or even a fire before putting it at home.
If the heat around the upper part is normal, there is no risk of problems, even if the fridge remains on all day?
Thank you in advance for your answers. Good weekend

Hi Alex! Yes sir that is completely normal. The exterior of the top portion of the refrigerator is the condenser. The heat which is removed from the inside of the cabinet is rejected from this surface. It will get very warm. During heavy load operation such as starting up for the first time after being powered off for a day - it may be almost too hot to touch.

Hi Alex,
Glad to see you got it running. It sounds like it is working just fine. Once the cabinet has cooled down the condenser on the side of the box top should get cooler to the touch. You should be in great shape!

Super, thank you both for reassuring me. I will be able to finalize its reassembly now.i imagine that it will soon be operational again. A fridge almost 100 years old anyway. We will not have the same problems with our figos recents, in 10 years at the most, it will be already in the trash .... I will post photos of him that will be reassembled. Good week to all.

Alex, I'm happy we have reassured you!
Is your motor designed for 220V 50 Hz operation; or do you have a transformer to supply 110V?
