Mike,
I’m assuming you might be missing the screw that goes above the purge screw. This screw has the threads in the center that the cap screw threads into.
I don’t have any spares of that screw. Someone may step forward, but those are only used on 1933 form A units.
I admire your enthusiasm in tackling this. If you spend an evening reading through the CA section, you’ll learn more about these machines than you likely care to know.

I read somewhere on a thread that a member had made heaters out of aluminum rod. I cant find the thread but I want to get a few heaters. VERY limited income here. Does anyone know of a member that could make me 3 heaters? Im close to Canton Ohio. Thank you

Mike,
I think most of us gave up on trying to make something once we found suppliers that made us proper heaters.
I sympathize with the limited income, but the specialized nature of a monitor top will drain your bank account. Almost nothing is off the shelf for a 1933 machine.
You might try using resistors as Cablehack has in the past.

Isn't that the plug that is usually soldered in to seal the service connection?

There's usually three:
purge screw-bristol
secondary screw-regular
screw mentioned above, the outside threads are 3/8"-24 I think with an inside thread that the cap screw goes into, likely 8-32.

I feel kind of dumb here...lol The cap screw and the secondary screw are connected with the cap. I noticed it tonight when I was working on my 3rd purge. I had my glasses on and noticed it. lol My 1933CA has been in almost continuous use since its purchase. It has the original heater plug so I am assuming it has never been changed.
Who is the best supplier with a reasonably priced heater? I see a few threads with multiple opinions on size, diameter, length etc.
can I get a for sure size and supplier hopefully with the suppliers part number.
Thank you so much for your help. I am not an electronics or appliance or electric person. Give me anything wood and I can do it, I can also grow just about anything too.

Are you sure if the heater needs to be replaced before you go to the effort of purchasing one? My CA-1 is still using its original heater. Having said that, once you touch the rubber wiring connected to it, you'll at least have to rewire it.

I have some rattling even after several purge sessions its never been replaced and my unit has been in almost constant use since 1933. i just dont want to have any damage over something relatively inexpensive. I just dont know what direction to go for a heater. I dont want to get something that might work marginally. Id like to get at least 1 for now. Do you really think that I would have to rewire it? Is there a video or a set of detailed instructions with some pics on doing a rewire? Thanks

First thing would be to verify the status of the heater. It would be foolish to replace a working heater.
