So the insulation and inner cabinet are re-installed. I polished the inner cabinet and applied top deck seal with a twist. I won't replace the no Oxid tape at all and I left intentional gaps in the corners for moisture transfer.Texolite strip install to commence soon.

Your porcelain tub cleaned up beautifully. What did you use (material and procedure)? I have been tempted to try buffing with cerium oxide, but never got that far.

When I go to work on my next MT I well try some of the turtle wax products. Did you use it on the texolite stripes as well ? I used regular car wax on the inside and the strips but did it all by hand .

I would be cautious using an abrasive with a high speed pad on what is essentially plastic.

Yes that is why I was asking. Regular car wax works well on the strips mine shined up nicely and still look good a year later .

Racks have been sent to plating company. 75-100 each. The gentleman asked me what I needed plated and I told him racks for a refrigerator, he says "why don't you just buy new ones", I say they are 80 years old, he says "yeah, you won't be able to buy those". LOL

I have buffed textolite strips on my high speed buffer with great success. However, you must use a compound made specifically for high speed buffing of plastics. And use a very soft flannel buff. Great info on the Turtle Wax polishes on the porcelain, by the way. I definitely will be trying that out. Thanks.

But I have also used the compound shown above on lenses and it works well.

What compound did you use on your strips?

I used a rouge made by DICO that is specific to plastic on a flannel wheel.
