I found this ad on-line in the May 7, 1948 edition of the "Council Bluffs Nonpareil" from Council Bluffs, Iowa. It's interesting to me because it provides some information about dates for the unit and also gives a price. FEA newspaper ad 1948.pdf (68.76 KB)

That is very fascinating! Only a little over a $100 for the baby unit.

MSRP on a 1948 Ford Deluxe Coupe was $1154. Could you imagine paying 12% the price of a car (roughly $3K today) for half of a refrigerator? Our cheap junk of today sure is cheap.

That puts it into perspective. 3k will get a fantastic, for today, fridge. I can't imagine spending that much to repair an old fridge. Maybe a DR4 lol. You know those FEA units are still running of they are in existence.

$116 in 1948 is about the same as $1175 today according to an inflation calculator.

I based my quickie calculations on the $145 price on the FEA 2.
