I know for a fact that my friend's Westinghouse had markings on the inner door liner (the plastic part on the inside) that had the date of when the liner was made. If you could get to that you might have your answer. However, the plastic is VERY brittle and easily cracks and breaks so if you do decide to look you will have to be careful. Other than that I really don't know how you would date this machine.

I have never quite understood the fixation on needing to know how old something is. Both of the above members above are correct about the plastic parts being brittle. This fact is why I don't save for newer fridges.

I find it odd that the textolite (used in the old GE fridges) seems to be "more" sturdy when compared to the other plastics that were used back then and even beyond. Maybe I just haven't had a bad experience with it yet but it seems more tough.

Thanks guys for the info, i'm not a technical Genius but i am going too try find some dates without messing things up. Not that i am fixated on dates but maybe it's just part of the process to find 'some' information ;-) also planning to give it a new color.

Check the compressor housing and see if any numbers are stamped in it anywhere. If so one could be a date code. Not sure what Westinghouse did there but I have a 47 system without its box in my storage bin,I could look over it for date codes some time.
