That looks nice. That's a 1950 model. The 1951's have a handle that you pull down.

Thank you Travis. It was repainted at some point, but done very well. No over spray and they didn't paint over the tags on the back. There's a metal "chimney" on the back covering the condenser that I'm going to remove and repaint. The chrome needs a good polish but isn't pitted. The only hardware missing are the original ice cube trays. I'm probably going to search eBay for them. I even found a vintage TV commercial for this model on YouTube! It even runs quieter than my modern refrigerator too!

Those trays should be pretty easy to find. I've seen that vintage of Frigidaire trays before.

That does look real nice. I see it has a "real" freezer about like the Leonard I am presently rewiring. That would have been a big selling point in 1950 I bet.

Thank you ckfan and coldspaces. I'll be browsing eBay real soon for those ice trays. Good to know they're out there! Yes, the "real" freezer was one feature that caught my eye too. It probably was an important selling point in 1950 as you said. A lot of refrigerators I see from the period have the little freezer "box". Can't really put much in them. Frigidaire advertised that their freezer "chest" would hold 49 pounds of frozen food plus the ice cubes! It's mentioned in the old commercial I saw on YouTube.

Coldspaces, my new controller came in the mail today from Surplus City Liquidators. As you can see it's new old stock! I'm very happy with it. The kit comes with a mounting bracket for the original escutcheon and a shaft adapter for the original knob! It also has adapters for the electrical terminals so the original "O" ring type connectors don't have to be cut off for installation. The instructions are very detailed and even show you how to make the end of the feeler tube into the correct Frigidaire serpentine end for clamping to the evaporator. This controller also fits some GE/Hot point and Kelvinator models too. Brackets and other hardware are included for those models as well. I do want to point out that the website only gives part numbers and specs for the controllers they have. They're is no listings for the make or models that these fit. But thanks to you I knew which one to get! So if the original controller decides to quit again (hopefully not) I'll have a correct replacement for it! Thanks again!!

You are welcome. Some of the universal controls sure did come with what you need to make them fit original.
