I just got back from Travis's house. I had a great time! Travis was nice enough to show me around and put up with my constant questions and lack of exact model knowledge. I learned quite a bit but still have a lot to learn. I was amazed at the sheer number of units that he has. I thought it would be a lot but not this many. He also showed me a garage that is owned by a friend of his. More amazement was to be found. I am still in awe. I asked Travis if I could take some pictures and post them to the forum. He said that I could. I took quite a few so I think that I am going to make a video of them instead of making a bunch of different posts. I am going to try my best to match up the correct model numbers with the machines in the pictures. Watch this space. Of course if I make a mistake, I will be happy to correct it. I am just in shock still...I guess there are still wonderful units to be found. I was in (my) heaven. I really am in deep now. This isn't even mentioning all of the other cool stuff he has. Antique radios and TVs that are in fantastic shape, a ticket machine for theater use from the 20s. Really neat stuff. Here is a teaser pic of a lovely Jukebox in his kitchen. It is a Seeburg from the 50s. It puts my Seeburg from the 60s to shame. Attachments:

Ray,
It was a pleasure to meet you. I look forward to your return trip in which we will attempt to organize a garage.
If anyone is wanting a particular antique refrigerator let me know. I am working to help find homes for numerous monitor tops, some Westinghouse, a few gas Servels, etc. All need some work, many are $100 per unit.

I stayed up late last night and got the video put together! Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of everything so things like the electromaster deepfreeze didn't get in there. I did however get a picture of an ad for it though. Most of the machines are in this video though. I probably made a few grammatical errors in the video, I noticed one for sure once I posted it. Oh well! I think you guys will enjoy watching it anyways. Some of these machines are going to be for sale by Travis so you may see your future machine! Here is the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMA1fYFmRAMHope you all enjoy it!

I created an inventory of my personal refrigerator collection. I do find it a bit hard to believe that even after earmarking some of them to other people, I ended up with 19 without being upset.

It's like a museum! Wish I had space for one, but I'm collecting Chambers stoves somehow.

Antique stoves are great too. I want to get one someday. I may just have to get an antique GE stove to match my monitor top!

Ray,
Maybe you need to take the GE electric stove that's in my back room.

I'm a GE baby myself, but when it comes to stoves, (with a few cool exceptions), Chambers is the only way to go. There's a reason they bring out the same sort of obsessive loyalty as Monitor Tops.

Travis,
I knew that as soon as I typed that in that you would say that! That stove did look great. It looked like it was in fantastic shape. I might just consider that...I need a house to put it in first though. Doesn't really make sense when you are renting your place to stay.
Vimco,
I think that those Chambers stoves look good too. They have an industrial yet soft look to them. I bet they would last forever if taken care of.

I guess I need to take a closer look at the video! The nice thing about a Chambers is that there's one for every aesthetic, from old-fashioned, deco, post-industrial, 50s and MCM. My oldest in use is 68yrs and after the refurbishment, it's probably good for at least another 50 Like the MT's, everything can be fixed or fabricated, and equally similar is their LOW energy consumption due to superior design and insulation. Their motto is Cooks With the Gas Turned Off. Now you've really got me going on my favourite subject, next to low-pressure steam heating systems that is!

Wow! I need to take a tour. Only problem is I'd end up with a DR-1 or 2 that I can't afford and my back will hate me for. lol

Gill, Yeah, it is a little long. All the thanks goes to Travis for showing all of those great units to me. I wanted time to notice all the detail in the photos. It also had to fit the song!
Stlvortac, I may just be coming home with a Dr1 myself before too long. I hope I am ready for that responsibility.

Icebox,
Glad that you enjoyed it. Travis has quite the collection between him and a friend of his. I'm just grateful that I got to see such a collection and now get to help Travis out when he needs help organizing. What we both need is a nice Prestcold to finish it off!
