That is strange looking. I would think you could make that out of two bullet driers, But What the heck are we looking at? Is that a solenoid for hot gas defrost??? Need a bigger, or more detailed picture.

I believe the way this one works is when the refrigerator section is down to temperature the solenoid is energized to shut off the flow of refrigerant through the cold plate in the refrigerator compartment. The compressor continues to run until the freezer compartment is down to its temperature then the compressor shuts off. The cold plate will warm up and defrost before the freezer warms up enough to start the compressor again. When the cold plate warms up the solenoid is deenergized so when the compressor starts up again both the refrigerator and freezer compartments get cooling. Many Philco dual zone refrigerators operated like that.

Thanks for the info. I'm not familiar with this type of set up, so this is new to me. The owner has the cooling unit out of he cabinet and it has a broken line and has lost it's charge. My plan is to repair the break, add a drier, and charge with r152a. I have added some pics. I am not sure if they show what you need to see. Thanks for the help. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1dtOQs8N09TzFZ0W9Ao4wgdulUnGYrCrr?usp=sharing
