Hey everyone It’s been running flawlessly for two weeks now, and keeping a good temp. I did have to stop and defrost it today, as currently I’m preparing it for painting (will post some photos once finished!) However upon starting again it does start cooling straight away which is great, but seems to get itself stuck intermittently until the refrigerant has had good time to circulate then it sorts itself out and all is well again. Wondering if I might have some ncgs still in there ? Glad to hear it's been working well! Most likely the delayed cooling as just the nature of the beast, as the say. Virtually all the high-side float machines take a few minutes to start cooling. The flat-top machines such as yours are going to take longer than the Monitor Tops. The refrigerant has to go uphill to reach the float, which it will not do unless the float is cooler than the condenser. The compressor needs to warm up a little before the refrigerant will fill the float chamber. It MIGHT have a touch of NCG, but probably not. If it worked well for two weeks without any issues, I would be hesitant to mess with it! Can't wait to see the results of the painting!

Great to hear it's been running well! If it's cycling on and off and keeping temperature. Let it keep running. If you have sealed around the door, don't forget to make sure the top is well sealed too. Especially as it's so humid at the moment.

Hey all! - Just a few sneaky pictures of it - considering I’ve done this with spray cans it’s turned out okay! :-) Few more things to do but it’s getting there!

It’s looking so much better, just got the base to finish, which will be finished in a satin black - so glad I pursued with this one, it’s been well worth the effort :-)

Looks great! So glad that you saved this machine. I really thought it would end up scrapped, when I first followed it's listing on eBay. Great job!

Hi everyone!
Installed a new seal for the door, and have been monitoring the cycle times.
Seems to cycle on for around 4 minutes and off for 20-25 minutes, this is in our unusually very warm weather at the moment too!
Inside is around 3-4 degrees Celsius middle shelf , I haven’t actually tested it with a thermometer in water yet.
Just wanting to see what I should be expecting roughly, or are these good cycle times in general?

They are what you expect with a healthy unit and a well sealed cabinet. Now you are able to see why these use so little total energy.

Hey everyone,
Just a quick update; we are now a few months in and still running very well - it’s keeping the temp in the cabinet to 1-2 degrees Celsius, and cycles on every 30 minutes or so for around 4 minutes. Seems to be running fairly happily! , it’ll be due a defrost soon though! :-)
