This is great info and work! I am rebuilding 2 DR2 units and had decided on 152 until I read this topic. Now I’m leaning more toward R1234ZE. What was the outcome with R124? I am changing the oil in both and will record the volume for future work in the DR section. Was there a potential oil issue with 124? If I decide on R1234 what would be the best oil to use. Thank you!

Thank you! Hi Allan. I would be very interested to hear how R1234ZE works in your DR machine. I have only used it to replace R114 in Frigidaire capillary tube rotary units. I don't see why it would have any problems in a DR machine. Unfortunately, I am having trouble locating it now and am hoping that it hasn't gone away already. Seems that Europe is inventing new imaginary problems to justify focusing on only non-patented refrigerants such as the hydrocarbons. That may have reduced the market for this product to the degree it is no longer profitable to make or sell.
