Yes, that is a very neat place. I want to go sometime.

I haven't been there, but might possibly have an opportunity in the next couple weeks when we take our summer vacation.
What would be interesting to me is to discover any communication related to the rapid evolution of the DR, particularly as it relates to failure analysis and subsequent solutions. One biggie was the relatively late discovery of the need to use a heater in the sump.. which eventually made its way into the 1928 models.
So internal technical communications would be neat to look through, though probably a bit daunting.
It also might be interesting to look at copies of the General Electric Review, in which they'd occasionally write about their achievements.

I'm looking forward to going but trying to keep my expectations in check. The sheer volume of information that would have been generated would have been impossible to store. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the GE Review. Let me know if you are make it to the museum. I'm curious as to what I'm signing up for.

Will report back if we are able to stop by.

I would love to take a week and just look through their archives. I’m sure we could learn so much. I hope you both enjoy yourselves if you go!

Thanks CK, I've booked time in September to go so I'm committed at this point. Heads up Birkie, you'll need to make an appt I believe to get access to the archives.

I would also love to go there but don't see it happening soon. Will be waiting to see how your trips go and how much we learn!

It looks more and more like I might actually get a chance to spend part of a day in the archives. There's some time in our vacation schedule a little over a week from now. Now I just need to get in touch with them and see if it works out on their end. Will give you a heads up on the kind of materials that are there, mach

I gave Chris Hunter a call today, and it looks like we're all set for next week Tuesday. He mentioned they had some documents authored by Steenstrup (hopefully, they're more than the patents), and other engineering docs. Curious to see the extent of it! Still trying to keep my expectations in check....
