Very nice car Ray 283 I assume always liked the 57 s thought they looked the best . What always blowers my mind is when you lift the hood you can actually see the engine .

I did a little bit of trading last weekend. I ended up with this little beauty. Wow! A REAL car! And yeah, there's an engine in there, not just hoses and wires and stuff with letters for names......

Saw this one on craglist what do you think ? I'd get it right off if it was near, the price is insane! Frigidaire was crazy on porcelain back then, and I'm not even seeing any chips.

Well what’s your reasoning for it not shutting off ? It s in Pittsburgh area 1.5 hour or less depending on which side it’s on .

Great price on a beautiful fridge. Probably just stuck or welded points. Can't be too hard to fix.

1) Control contacts stuck as mentioned, need filed smooth. 2) Control probe damaged and lost charge. 3) Control probe not secured to evaporator.
Hey, it runs and cools. Worst case the control needs replaced. Although back then they could usually be taken apart and repaired.

God, a nice Chevy and a lovely Frigidaire popped up in my thread. Go get it! The fact that it runs and cools is paramount. Give the contacts in the control a little love with a burnishing file and let it rip! Now that I think about it...the fridge that I have, exact same model as this one did the same thing after a move. Turns out it wasn't the points but it was a part that had come out of place. A little tweaking with a pair of needle nose pliers and viola. It verks!

I did a little bit of trading last weekend. I ended up with this little beauty. Does it run, cool, or have stuck or welded points? It does run, it is extremely cool, and the points are working just fine!

Good to no Ray thanks , we'll have to try that but to many in front of that one now paid 50 for it . Also I could not find the manufacturer tag on mine like the MTs have does yours have one if so where is it located? Did you check out the one on eBay in Ohio it's all there ? Says It was in a museum second listing on it . Was that the one that I bought and brought home?
