This float valve does not have two levels like the very first DR's as pictured in very early ads. I suppose that a better description is that it is a half-round across its top with the valve at an angle off to the side toward the edge of the rounded-off part before you get to the straight sides. Because of the serial number on this machine, I wonder if it is a pre-Bridgeport rebuild. It is not marked as such, and bears the standard black background specification plate found on all of the DR machines from at least Form E onwards. The Bridgeport rebuilds have an entirely different style plate and different model number specs ( like DR-2 S16 ) and serial numbers that begin with a double digit year followed by a dash (44-etc.) So I don't know what to think. The oven style evaporator is white porcelain enamel. Most of the rebuilds that I've seen have the blue-black porcelain rather than white. I have a rebuilt DR-2 that is a Bridgeport rebuild and it has the DR-2 S16 designation, a blue-black porcelain pig-style evaporator, and a float assembly that is entirely different from the standard. It also has a blue and white decal on the right rear side near the float that says it was rebuilt at Bridgeport, Conn, and a serial number tag that begins with a double-digit year followed by a dash.

I'm not sure about the rest but it sounds like the float is the same type that was used on the CK line.
