Alan, I don't care either way actually, as long as it looks original from the outside of the unit. Does that fit into the original box or do you make your own and fabricate it into it.? I can send you a pic of it, I think somebody else at one time has been in it and screwed with it. I am liking your thinking, a more modern control with overload might be the best way to go. The original CG1 control is like an alien modified Swiss watch inside! If you want this control back to original you must have a donor or donors. I could replace the contacts but that is about it. Good news is that it can be refitted with all new components in the same box!
