Yes, the tiny DR was painted inside and outside. Very cool to know about this!

Not to go off topic too long, but the model I am looking for was a 1927-28 model only. The S32, a whopping 3.2 cu ft cabinet. They likely didn't sell very well and therefore aren't around. I suspect the DR1's are as common as they are because they sold a lot of them and they were easy to sell used or rehome as a giveaway. Both of these factors change as the model gets larger or in the case of the S32, a miniature size.

The house closes tomorrow. I pulled all the parts off, except the cooling unit.
I tried removing the big screws inside the top. They seem pretty tight. Is that normal? I didn't have a large bit driver on hand. I might be able to stop by tomorrow and try to remove it. I'm probably not going to deal with taking that whole top unit section, but I might try to pull some parts from it. What is worth trying to remove, if I can get the screws off. I'm pretty sure the cooling unit has leaked. I have access to power so I could test the motor to see if it still runs, if someone can tell me which of the wires is the + and - for the motor. The control unit is off and the wires are loose.

Remove the larger hex screw holding the clamp that holds the tube going to the control to the top of the evaporator. Remove the four screws at the corners of the control. Gently straighten the tube from below and lift and wiggle the control.
I’d also remove the badge under the dome in the front. It has two slotted screws.
Remove the hinges, latch, strike and shelves. If the cord is there take it for the end piece.
Thank you for attempting to save parts.

I see from the pictures that you do have the cord. Message me and we can make a deal on your parts if you’re wishing to sell them.

I got the contol unit off, with the orfice tube intact. I pulled all the label plates off and have the screws. I took the door, striker and the black plastic trim around the door opening off.
I'm wondering if anything that's part of the top/motor unit is worth removing. The whole top unit is too bulky and heavy for me to deal with taking with me.

That’s about all you can save. The rest is put together as one chunk.

It's a shame this one will be destroyed with the house it's in; but thank you for saving the pieces you could.

Just wondering about the door, are these compatible with a ball top ? Wood like a door for a ball top doesn’t have to be in the best of shape sense I want to cut a window in it . I want to keep the original door as is on mine . But want a second door to experiment on .

It’s a very different door than a balltop
