Hey Paul I got curious as well - This is what I could find in the SY manual. The CK-30B machine has a single wide evaporator with one refrigerated shelf. It is center mounted. I can't see the evaporator header to know for sure. It could be a CK-2 evaporator mounted in the center. I believe the visual difference is that the CK-30 is much wider proportional to the CK-2 and the center alignment of the evaporator. All Monitor Top Machines, except CK-30G, CK-35G and CK-35H, use sulphur dioxide. CK-30G, CK-35G and CK-35H are charged with R12. Hope that helps. I'm not sure if the ebay one is a CK-30B as it has the dimple on top. I think that its a T-9 cabinet which has the cut out like that. Note the foot pedal and the hinges. The parts manual pairs suggests the CK-30 fits the T-9. "A few Model T-9 Cabinets use Hl6A9/H16A10 hinge with white stripes on body of hinge" so a little rare?

Mach,
Exactly right. A CK30 is a larger single evaporator unit specifically made for the 9 Cu ft cabinet. Only the CK30 B didn’t have the bump.

It looks like there's a bump one that Paul or is it just a trick of the light?

Paul,
I am sorry. I was in a mood earlier. The 9 cu ft cabinet was the largest single door model. The shouldered top is part of the cabinet. The CK30 unit has a 1/6 hp compressor and a larger condenser.
That particular one is missing the crisper drawers. The drawers must have been an option as I've seen these cabinets without them. Instead they have a normal slider shelf.
CK30's are somewhat rare in comparison to the smaller CK2's.

No worries, Travis. I think I see now the difference. And on another note, what would be the most any of y'all would be willing to pay for this? The seller offered it to me for $800 if I drive to New York to pick it up. Wish it were a DR, but alas, an FEA on a 2 door cabinet. They said it comes with a chiller tray and shelves and does work. The cabinet is gorgeous, though! www.ebay.com/itm/113257790958?ul_noapp=true

Paul,
The cabinet is nice. How many of its six shelves does it have? If I were local, the max I would pay is $500. I would then watch for a ratty 2 dr with a CK35 or DR3, marry the two and put the FEA in a crate in storage.
An FEA would be an ideal unit for you to stick in your barn for your employees.

There’s a nice 2 door ck around Detroit. But the price was high too 1500 if memory serves me correctly.
Theres a a nice DR 2 in Edison N J 550$. It’s been on eBay for at least a year and he’s only come down 50$ so don’t think he well budge on the price.

Don,
The compressors of the CK30's and CK35's are larger than the CK2's. There's also another wrap of condenser to accommodate. Only the CK30B and CK35B don't have the dimple. I have seen a CK30B once and have two of the CK35B's. The only difference in the CK30 and CK35's are the evaporators. The CK35B have twin narrow evaps and the later models have one narrow and one wider.

Don,
It appears you have a nice CK2-B16 from 1935. The white stripe that we referred to on hinges were on the 1934 hinges. Your hinges have removable hinge covers.

Don,
Your last picture makes your CK look like a CK1. Is it?
CK1's never had a crisper drawer, seldom did a CK2 and most times a CK30 had a pair.
