Yeah, from what I can tell its a standard rotary compressor. I believe it's called a rolling piston compressor. Very similar to what Frigidaire made. Just not hermetic unfortunately.

As we all know, it's an old SO2 system. It might have other problems inside.

Facinating So basically every window air conditioner I owned had a Rollator in it. They take a lot of abuse, even slugging that much I'm sure of.

Yep, they can slug out a wad of refrigerant with the best of them. The spring loaded vane just gives way.

No, CA's stall if you look at them cross.
Then again DR windings short or ground out.
